Poured concrete

Concrete Wall Calculator

Estimate cubic yards or cubic meters of ready-mix for a solid concrete wall. This is not a block calculator — it uses thickness times net area.

1

Wall dimensions

Poured concrete volume is net area times thickness.

Thickness & waste

Thickness is the poured wall width, not a block module.

Openings

Subtract doors and windows from the poured volume.

Enter the price you were quoted. No average rate is assumed.

Enter length, height, and thickness to estimate poured concrete volume.

Poured walls are a volume problem

A solid concrete wall is length × height × thickness, minus openings, plus waste for spillage and over-excavation. There is no block face to divide by. If you are stacking CMU, use the cinder block or concrete block wall calculators instead.

Typical thicknesses

Foundation and retaining walls are often specified in inches (for example 8 in or 10 in). Enter the structural thickness from the drawings, not an architectural finish thickness, unless that is what you are pouring.

What this does not do

It does not design reinforcement, formwork, or mix. Volume with a waste allowance is only a material takeoff. Have the pour reviewed against the project specifications. OSHA’s cast-in-place concrete requirements (opens in a new tab) cover formwork, shoring, and placement on site.
